PUNTING ON THE AVON

This is one of the "must" and not to be missed to do when in Christchurch! 

Punting on the Avon is Christchurch's iconic river tour and one of the city's most loved attractions.

Sink back into the seats of your punt, relax and let your thoughts drift away as you travel slowly along the river propelled by a skilled punter in Edwardian attire. Take in the stunning scenery of the Botanic Gardens, get up close to the river's wildlife and listen to the thoughtful commentary from your punter. This eco-friendly attraction is a luxurious way to see the city from a new perspective.

The 30-minute tour departs from and ends at the historic Antigua Boat Sheds in the central city.
